Deer stalking schemes return

A deer stalker aiming down the rifle scope

We are delighted to confirm that we have renewed our leases for two of our most popular deer stalking schemes and are taking bookings now.

The schemes, in Arran and Hampshire, allow members to develop their skills and are designed for those who have already achieved their DSC1 and wish to progress on to their DSC2.

Isle of Arran

This scheme provides unrivalled stalking for red deer in a commercial forest environment. You can book a week’s stalking, stags or hinds, and no other fees apply.

The stalking is in unaccompanied pairs and each pair gets allocated their own beat for the week. At least one of the pair must have their DSC2 and this provides an excellent opportunity for you to mentor a friend who wants to develop their skills. The online ballot for the stag weeks opens on 29 April, click here to find out more.

Hampshire

The Hampshire scheme is based on a private estate with a typical mix of roe and muntjac in lowland habitats.

All the stalking is accompanied and provides the ideal stepping stone from DSC1 to DSC2. Several of the guides are also approved witnesses, so you can complete your DSC2 there.

We are now taking bookings for culling roebucks, so if you would like further details please e-mail us deer@basc.org.uk
