Role information

We are seeking a passionate and driven project manager to join our team and lead various initiatives aimed at advancing the goals of Country Sports Scotland. As the project manager, you will be responsible for planning, executing, and overseeing a range of projects that contribute to the enhancement and promotion of country sports activities across Scotland.

Our vision

All BASC employees are expected to contribute to our vision:

Fight for sustainable shooting and conservation of the countryside.

Country Sports Scotland (CSS) was formed in 2003 as a collaboration of organisations working on behalf of land managers, fisheries managers, shooting and deer stalking interests and the public sector. Today, CSS is operated and run by BASC, the largest shooting and conservation organisation in Scotland and the UK.

CSS works on projects which focus on improving the customer experience and raising awareness of Scotland as a key destination.

Future work will include a greater emphasis on the collective marketing of Scotland as a destination, while driving wider adoption of environmental accreditation, training and standards. The role is based in the offices of BASC Scotland in Trochry, outside Dunkeld, with travel to meetings around Scotland.

  6. Preparing and delivering a group marketing and PR plan.
  7. Driving forward CSS’s social media engagement and reach, working with a network of content-providers to manage a hub for Scotland’s country sports imagery.
  8. Driving membership through targeted approaches as well as pro-active relationship management of existing members and donors.
  9. Identifying and attending strategic events and exhibitions, driving the promotion of Scotland as a destination of choice for country sports.
  10. Carrying out any other duties as reasonably required by the director Scotland.
  11. Arranging invoicing and receipt of contributions to CSS by providers, as well as other expenses.

Additional responsibilities:

  1. Taking charge of setting and managing CSS budgets in line with desired marketing outputs, in line with groups action plan and the board.
  2. Developing and maintaining the CRM system.
  3. Developing and delivering training workshops and similar accreditations (Scottish Country Sports Tourism awards) alongside other organisations to promote best practice and to develop growth within the sector.
