In response to the sentencing at Nottingham Magistrates Court today, BASC has issued the following statement:
“BASC has a zero tolerance attitude towards raptor persecution, condemning all forms of illegal behaviour.
“All incidents of raptor persecution are extremely harmful to the reputation of shooting and we will not stand by and allow these actions from a tiny minority risk undoing all the other good work that takes place.
“BASC’s work with a wide range of partners tackling wildlife crime, including the Raptor Persecution Priority Delivery Group and the publication of zero-tolerance to raptor persecution contracts for shoot owners, shows our commitment to acting on our words.
“The shooting community rightly prides itself on all the good work it does which helps wildlife and contributes to positive conservation outcomes.”
